In fact, a study shows 95 per cent of us - including top academics, doctors and scientists - believe in extra-terrestrial beings but we won't admit it. Fear of being laughed at has meant most people say they don't believe in galaxies far, far away. To investigate belief in extra-terrestrial life, researchers from Harvard University in the US and Reichman University in Israel quizzed 6,114 highly-educated and scientifically interested people with degrees, postgraduate qualifications and doctorates.

Aliens will be found by 2075, top scientist insists - 'I am absolutely convinced there is life out there'
In 1996 Nasa and the White House made the explosive announcement that the rock contained traces of Martian bugs. The meteorite, catalogued as Allen Hills (ALH) 84001, crashed onto the frozen wastes of Antarctica 13,000 years ago and was recovered in 1984. Photographs were released showing elongated segmented objects that appeared strikingly lifelike.

Scientists analyse the famous 'WOW!' signal first detected in 1977 - and finally reveal the truth about the mysterious flash
In 1977, the Ohio State University's Big Ear radio telescope captured a signal from space so strange that scientists are still baffled by it almost 50 years later. For decades, scientists have struggled to find any natural process capable of producing the 72-second burst which prompted astronomer Jerry Ehman to write'WOW!' on the telescope's readout. Now, new analysis of the so-called WOW! signal has revealed that it might have been caused by a hugely powerful laser slamming into Earth. Experts say this was not the first salvo of an alien invasion, but rather the entirely natural product of a rare alignment between a collapsed star and a cloud of cool hydrogen. Unfortunately for alien-hunters, scientists from the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo say this new evidence shows that the WOW! signal is not evidence of life beyond Earth.

Why haven't aliens contacted us? Scientists reveal their theories for the lack of any signs from extraterrestrials - despite '100% chance' that they exist
Despite what UFO enthusiasts might claim, virtually every scientist agrees that humanity is yet to receive a message let alone a visitor from beyond our planet. But in the vast scale of the universe – containing an estimated 2 trillion galaxies – scientists say there is a '100 per cent chance' that there is life somewhere apart from Earth. This raises a intriguing question: If alien life truly is common in the Universe, why haven't we heard from them? From the'Dark Forest Hypothesis' to the inevitability of nuclear war, the answer to this question may offer a chilling glimpse into the future of our own civilisation. Professor Frederick Walter, a galactic astronomer from Stony Brook University says: 'Life is a biochemical process, it's going to happen, but as you go further down the chain things become more uncertain.'

AI or ET?: Experts split over whether stargazers should be looking for aliens or new tech
Humans curious about whether we are alone in the universe may be searching for the wrong thing, according to some experts who believe the search for alien life should focus on alien artificial intelligence. "We ourselves are very close to realizing artificial general intelligence (AGI), and there's an expectation that once you reach that point, it can then accelerate away at a very fast rate and quickly outstrip ourselves in intelligence," Eamonn Kerins, an astrophysicist and Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) researcher at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester, said in a Space.com According to the report, there's a growing thought among scientists that if humans ever were to make contact with an alien life, it may come in the form of a computer. The thought revolves around an event known as the "singularity," which Space.com explains is a mathematics term that "signifies a point where our knowledge of math and physics breaks down, and we can no longer accurately characterize what we're trying to describe." When it comes to computer science, the singularity would describe the moment when AI technology develops so fast that it experiences runaway growth and forms a superintelligence that humans would lack the ability to understand or explain.
We might NOT be alone! NASA says it can't rule out that 'alien technology' is operating in the Earth's atmosphere

Peter Ma on Using AI to Find Promising Signals of Alien Life
Peter Ma was bored in his high school computer science class. So he decided to teach himself something new: how to use artificial intelligence to find alien life. That's how he eventually became the lead author of a groundbreaking study published in Nature Astronomy. The study reveals how Ma and his co-authors used AI to analyze a massive dataset of radio signals collected by the SETI Breakthrough Listen project. They found eight signals that might just be technosignatures or signs of alien technology.

SETI thinks AI could help rovers search for life on Mars
With over 144,370,000 square miles of surface terrain, Mars has a lot of places where signs of potential life could hide. Factor in the ultra-valuable time of current and future rovers, and it makes it even more challenging to scour for evidence of potential ancient microbes and organisms in an efficient way. To even the playing field a bit, SETI is turning again to artificial intelligence and machine learning in an effort to calculate the most likely and promising places for rovers--and, perhaps one day, astronauts--to look for clues of life. And as first detailed on Monday in Nature Astronomy, the team's new AI machine learning modeling is already showing potential to speed up humanity's search for alien life. To build their AI, the interdisciplinary project led by SETI Institute Senior Research Scientist Kim Warren-Rhodes trained a program on datasets drawn from a region called Salar de Pajonales.
New evidence of alien life found in a Google drive folder ?
There have been a lot of fascinating discoveries made using Google Apps. Some of these include photos of dinosaurs and extinct animals in archaeological sites around the world. There could also be evidence of alien life in the form of stable diffusion images. It's unknown what these strange images mean, but there's no doubt they're intriguing to look at through human eyes. Finally, it seems that we can admire the odd beauty of these strange beings floating in outer space ...
Alien life may have already been replaced by ROBOTS, Astronomer Royal claims
Alien life on other planets could be in the form of robots who have outlived their creators, according to the Astronomer Royal. And alarmingly, that is the same fate which may befall people on Earth too. Numerous Hollywood films have presented the possibilities of robots becoming self-aware and deciding to destroy humans so they can rule the world. But Martin Rees, the Astronomer Royal, told Cheltenham Science Festival robots taking over was a possibility. No life beyond Earth has ever been found; there is no evidence that alien life has ever visited our planet.
